Hello! My name is Nikki. I am a 26 year old African-American woman in NC. As you can see I am on a journey to get rid of the weight that has been on me for years now. I am not doing this as a bash to other plus-sized bloggers, I am doing this as a way for myself to GET HEALTHY. If I end up skinny, ok, if not, ok. I am not defined by the size of my clothes. I am defined by the person I want to be.
I am loving and kind. I will give and go and do for as long as I am physically and financially able. But I have also learned that I am selfish at times about certain things and I have expensive tastes. This sometimes causes me to be high- maintenance. I accept it so it is best that if you follow me here you do to. I have great family and friends. I go to a wonderful church and attend college at a great school. However, both of those have their flaws like everything in life does so we won't focus on that.
Really my mom is my best friend. She has taught me self acceptance all of my life but it has been hard for me to accept myself anyway. In the last 2 years I have learned that I am a work in progress and I can never stop the progress through life. I want to become the independent self- accepting woman that she has taught me to be.
In order to get there there are a lot of physical, mental, and emotional battles to fight but I am ready to fight because I am worth it. ;)
